Taught over 10 weekly evening classes, our Introduction to the City and Global Financial Services short course offers students an extensive introduction to London's financial district.
The City and Global Financial Services course will provide a basic and comprehensive understanding of the activities and careers available in the City and in financial services generally and could also be used as a launch pad for further study or employment.
You will develop a key understanding of the organisations, markets and instruments that form the key components of the City, with the help of industry experts.
Our evening course provides a comprehensive introduction to the many organisations, markets and instruments of the City and their corresponding jargon.
Financing and investing with many instruments are explained and discussed. Comprehensive examples are used to illustrate the practical aspects of many careers in the City. Regulation of the City and of banks is explained.

Over the part-time course of 10 weekly evening classes on the Introduction to the City and Global Financial Services course, you will learn:

Handouts of PowerPoint class notes will be provided via the City's online document software: Moodle.
An informal one-hour multiple choice test at the end of the short course will be given to test individual understanding and progress.
Classroom tuition will be complemented by group discussion of topical news of the City, economics or global financial markets.
