Sokratis Karkalas holds a BA in Education, a BSc in Economics, an MBA and an MSc in Computer Science.
Nowadays he is working towards the completion of a PhD in artificial intelligence and educational technologies at Birkbeck, University of London.
In parallel he works as a teaching assistant for Birkbeck and he is a member of the London Knowledge Lab. He has been working since 1991 both in the industry and in the academia holding various posts.
He was a chief IT manager for a multi-national group of industrial companies for several years. He contributed as a scientific associate in large scale EU projects at the University of Thessaly in Greece.
