Innovation Training: Turning an Idea into a Business is a one-day course that will teach students how to identify winning ideas and turn them into a commercially viable product. It is targeted at those creating new ideas or looking to improve on an existing idea.
This Innovation short course will be useful for anyone looking for skills or training in the field of New Product Development, as well as those developing innovative ideas for to create their own commercial product.
The Innovation Training masterclass is targeted at private individuals, researchers, early stage researchers, KTP associates, career knowledge exchange practitioners, product developers and commercialisation professionals. You will also find the role of benefit if you have recently moved into a role within this sector.
A new product should offer a solution to a problem. This innovation Masterclass offers technical training, covering all types of concepts from methodologies, to software, to engineering hardware.

On the Innovation, Development and Commercialisation of Ideas short course, you will learn how to:
Plans and templates for development will be provided.
The desire to commercialise ideas is paramount. A minimum of a degree is ideal but experienced individuals without a college degree will cope well.
Applicants must be proficient in written and spoken English.
The one day Masterclass will be taught in the classroom with examples either taken from real life or from the students themselves. These ideas would be taken through the commercialisation process using workshops and questionnaires to give practical examples of the salient points of the training.
A Knowledge Transfer Practitioner with a strong entrepreneurial background in new technology development. Dr Ogunjimi has more than 15 years' experience of commercial technology development, innovation strategy and commercialisation. He has extensive experience of collaborative Research and Development for physical sciences and Engineering. An accredited Project Manager, his experience focused on business development and creation of strategic partnership for collaborative, innovative technology development. He has successfully negotiated several licensing agreements and facilitated start-up companies.
Dr Ogunjimi currently manages a portfolio of intellectual properties at various stages from concept to market readiness and he is actively involved in developing IP management strategy and innovative methods of de-risking technologies for investment and market entry.
