Course overview

This Evidence based dementia care module aims to develop the knowledge base, skills and competencies of health, social work and social care practitioners to enable them to deliver high quality dementia care in a wide range of settings. The module aims to enhance your understanding and application of theoretical concepts and a range of evidence to guide the care for people with dementia and their carers.

Prerequisite knowledge

Non EEA students can only apply as part of a programme, not as a stand-alone module.

  • Level 6 study and working in a health or social care role
  • A current professional registration with a relevant professional/statutory body or equivalent
  • At least one years' relevant clinical experience as a health or social care practitioner
  • A satisfactory academic reference and a satisfactory clinical reference.

English requirements

For those students whose first language is not English, the following qualification is also required:

  • IELTS: 7.0
