Survey on joint supervision

Following feedback from the institution's research student body through the Senate Research Student Representative, the City Graduate School Committee has agreed to conduct a short survey on our students' experience of joint supervision.

The aim of the study is to:

  • identify and share good supervision practice for the benefit of existing and future research students at the institution
  • support the professional development of our academic and research staff
  • inform the development of future research student surveys, in particular the biennial Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)
  • contribute to sector-wide discussions on research degree supervision.

The survey is being conducted by colleagues in the Graduate School, the Department of Learning, Enhancement and Development (LEaD) and City, University of London Students' Union. The survey has undergone ethical approval by LEaD and you are free to withdraw from the survey at any stage. We expect the questionnaire to take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

The results of the questionnaire will be collated and a summary report on the results considered by a meeting of the institution's Graduate School Committee. A copy of the report will be publicly available and to any research student upon request.
