Image analysis for neutrophils and other cells - Current

Bio

José Alonso graduated from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de México (ITAM) in Telematics Engineering (BEng Hons) in 2013 and Applied Mathematics (BSc Hons) in early 2014. He was awarded the XIX Research Award from ITAM for his BSc project on Nonlinear Acoustics. He then worked as a Visiting Lecturer at ITAM on the course of Introduction to Mathematics for the Social Sciences programmes, as well as a research assistant for government funded projects on telecommunications and public transport. In 2015, he was awarded a Doctoral Scholarship by the School of Science and Technology (SST). He is currently a full-time PhD researcher working in the area of Biomedical Image Analysis. His project involves the automated analysis of moving patterns in migrating cells’ movement. Other interests of him involve robotics, machine learning, statistics and numerical analysis.
