Get involved in our research

We are always looking for people to help with our research by taking part in some of our studies. If English is your mother tongue and you are interested in helping us, please get in touch (see contact details, right) and we will give you more information.

We would like to hear from individuals with or without a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.  We are not currently investigating other clinical or neurological conditions.

What is generally involved in this research?

We would ask you to come occasionally to our lab in central London for a half-day or less, depending on your availability.

In the first session we may ask you to complete a few standard tests to assess your language and problem-solving skills. If you are happy to return occasionally for more tasks, these would take the form of exercises to assess your memory, emotional responses to various stimuli, your ability to estimate time, or your visual or problem solving skills. We would always provide you with details about the tasks, and you would always be free to decline to take part.

What do I get out of it?

You would be contributing to cutting-edge research that will help us to better understand what life is like for people with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. This understanding will help us to support them in areas of difficulty.

We would pay you for your time as well as any travel costs.

If you are interested in taking part in this research, please e-mail us at autismresearch@city.ac.uk. If you are younger than 18 years of age and are interested in helping us, please ask your parents or guardians to contact us.
