Theories of international politics
In recent years, International Relations (IR) as a discipline has been characterised by extensive and significant turmoil. This module will provide you with an overview of key theoretical traditions in international politics.
The goal of this module is not to get you to adopt a particular theory or representation of global politics. Instead, it is hoped that this module will help you to develop the tools to uncover the assumptions, both tacit and explicit, behind the way in which questions and texts are framed, to consider what questions are left unasked, and to recognise which theories have been, or have not been, used.
