Communication Strategies of the Ak Party in Turkey
Taner’s PhD thesis focuses on the communication strategies of the AK Party in Turkey. He examines how the communication strategies, political and party messages have evolved between 2002 and 2014. The role of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership is another focal point in portraying an image leader-symbol. Political public relations, social movement theories, Americanization of elections, collective identity and post-Islamism are themes throughout his work. He applies qualitative and quantitative research methods to his thesis.
