Inequality and Corporate Power in Global Finance
Dr Sandy Hager's research focuses on inequality and corporate power in global finance.
Her recent book, Public Debt, Inequality, and Power: The Making of a Modern Debt State examines the political economy of public indebtedness in the United States. The research reveals that ownership of federal bonds has become increasingly concentrated in the hands of the one percent over the last three decades, with negative consequences for democratic representation. She is currently undertaking a research project on the tax strategies of the largest global corporations.
