Thesis title: (Provisional title) Designing a new market structure for electricity trading networks using the SMART technology
Supervisor: Dr Xeni Dassiou
Overview and research interests
Jacopo's current research, which arises from a critical review of the current regulatory framework, seeks to design a common European market for supplying electricity in a sustainable green economy.
Taking into account the future implementation of smart meters and grids, it will be possible to revert one of the basic assumptions of current industrial economics, i.e. that the consumption curve cannot be drawn precisely on a real-time basis. This would allow us to redesign the market structure, the dispatching and pricing mechanism, seeking an equilibrium that is closer to the perfect competitive one.
