Q: What discounts am I entitled to as a City alumnus?
A: We offers City graduates a Graduate Loyalty Discount on tuition fees of at least 10% on tuition fees when applying for one of over 150 postgraduate courses.
You are also entitled to free sight tests and a discount of up to 20% off a complete pair of glasses at City Sight, City’s eye clinic in the Tait building.
If you decide to join CitySport, our sport and fitness centre, you can benefit from a discounted alumni membership from just £32 per month.
As well as that, you also receive an 80% discount off the annual rates charged to external visitors for borrowing privileges at Northampton Square Library, Cass Learning Resource Centre and The City Law Library. If you wish to borrow books, you can register and pay a £30 annual subscription online.
We have partnered with alumni benefit provider Alumni Union, who offer insurance deals, premium airport lounge passes, membership to a West End private members club and more. You will need to sign up to receive deals and offers.
Q: Who needs one?
A: You need an alumni card if you would like to access CitySport or use the libraries at City, University of London.
Q: What can I access with my alumni card?
A: It gives you access to Northampton Square Library, Cass Learning Resource Centre, The City Law School Library (Gray's Inn Place), The City Law School Library (Northampton Square) and CityBar. You can also use your alumni card to prove your status as an alumnus when visiting CitySport, which will allow you to have a discounted membership.
Q: How long does it take to receive an alumni card?
A: Please allow five working days to have your alumni card delivered to your address in the United Kingdom. If you live abroad delivery will take longer, depending on the international post service. Alternatively, you can request to collect your card from the Alumni Office.
Q: Is the alumni card valid forever?
A: Your alumni card will expire in three years’ time from the date of issue, at which point you will need to contact us again for a new one by emailing email@example.com.
Q: How can I get my replacement alumni card?
A: If you have lost your card within the three-year issue period, you can request a new card by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

Q: How do I share my news or memories of City with you?
A: First of all, we would love to hear from you! If you have something you would like to share with us and your fellow alumni e.g. you’ve stumbled across some old photos from your time at City, you’ve received industry or professional recognition or you’re about to launch a new start-up, please email email@example.com, tweet @cityalumni or post directly to our Facebook page or LinkedIn group.
As well as sharing your news directly from our social media, we may also be able to include it in our newsletter, blog and/or annual magazine.

Q: Can I still access the Careers Service as a City alumnus?
A: As a graduate of City, University of London, you are able to access the careers services for up to three years upon completion of your course. You can book appointments, register for careers events, browse vacancies and view our extensive list of resources via CareersHub.
Q: How do I access CareersHub?
A: You can use our service for three years after completion of your course by accessing CareersHub online.
If you have lost your account or do not have access to your email address, you can submit a login request to regain access to your account or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: How do I get involved with Careers?
A: Careers, Student Development & Outreach invite all alumni to engage with them, whether to present your company, a skills workshop or advise on a one-to-one basis. You can also advertise jobs, internships and host a career event. Find out how to get involved on campus or to advertise career opportunities.
Q: How can I purchase City branded merchandise?
A: We offer a range of crystal and pewter gifts through Campus Clothing. If you are on campus you can visit the City Shop where you can buy a range of City branded clothing. Alternatively you can now also purchase City or Cass branded merchandise online.
Q: Can I purchase personalised City jewellery?
A: We have partnered with Eva London who produce bespoke fine jewellery personalised to City. Rings, charms and cufflinks can be purchased in white, yellow or rose gold and sterling silver with prices starting from £30.
A: Due to the Data Protection Act 1998, we cannot provide you with any personal information of our alumni. However, we are willing to contact alumni on your behalf and ask them to contact you. Please email email@example.com with details of their names and study details (course and year of graduation) and we will be able to help.
You can also become a member of our City, University of London Alumni Network LinkedIn group where you can search and connect with fellow alumni.
A: If you graduated from 2013 onwards you can keep your @city.ac.uk email address for life.
Q: I have forgotten the password for my City email account. How can I access my email?
A: Please contact the IT Helpdesk on +44 (0) 207 040 8181 or by completing the online form. You will need to select the "Log a call without a City account" option in order to contact IT.
A: View all our upcoming events and register for a specific event organised by the Alumni team.
Q: What is City's policy for refunds?
A: Please see our terms and conditions page or contact firstname.lastname@example.org. You may cancel your event booking up to seven days prior to the event. You will receive a full refund of the price paid for the booking minus an administration fee (£2 for bookings totalling up to £49, £4 for £50-£99, £7 for £100-£199 and £10 for £200 and over).
Q: What is the dress code for Alumni events?
A: Smart casual, unless the invitation suggests otherwise.
Q: Can I bring a guest to an alumni event?
A: We usually allow two tickets per person, however on some occasions you will be able to bring more than one guest or the event will be restricted to alumni only.
Q: I would like to organise a get-together with former classmates from my time at City. Can the Alumni Relations team help me?
A: If you wish to organise your own reunion with fellow alumni, we are happy to help. All you need to do is complete this form.
Q: How do I get involved with City if I live overseas?
A: We would like to invite you to become an Alumni Ambassador and help us during our events and other activities overseas. Find out more about the role.
Q: Can I become a mentor to a current student?
A: City's Mentoring Scheme offers professionals the opportunity to inspire and guide our students through a six or nine month one-to-one mentoring relationship. Find out more.
Q: I live outside of London. Can I still become a mentor?
A: If you are based outside of London, you are welcome to join our online mentoring tool, Ask Alumni, which allows you to contact current students and graduates of City, University of London for e-mentoring. Join Ask Alumni .
Q: Can I offer careers support?
A: If you would like to get involved in other ways on campus and make our students more aware of the opportunities you have to offer, please visit the Careers page.
Q: I would like to volunteer as a speaker at an event. Is that possible?
A: Our Careers department runs a number of panel events every year for different sectors. If you would like to volunteer as a speaker, please email email@example.com. Alternatively, you might also be interested in volunteering as a speaker at an alumni event. To express your interest, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Can I provide a venue for alumni events?
A: We run a large number of professional networking and social events for our alumni. We try to run events for little or no cost to attendees and therefore rely on the generous support of other alumni by hosting our events at their offices, clubs, etc. If you are willing to provide us with a venue for an alumni event, please email us at email@example.com.
A: All the details about your Graduation ceremony including ceremony dates, the venue and tickets can be found on the Graduation page. If you have any further questions regarding your ceremony, please contact the Graduation team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Can I watch my Graduation ceremony online?
A: The live stream of the Graduation starts approximately 15 minutes before the ceremony. All our past ceremony videos are available to watch online.
Q: How can I frame my Graduation certificate?
A: To purchase a City branded frame, please contact The Certificate Framing Company.
Q: How can I purchase photography, DVD and souvenirs from a graduation ceremony?

Q: Can I still access the library?
A: Yes, you just need an alumni card. Email us to get one. This is for reference access only. If you want to borrow books you will need to arrange this at the library and there is a charge for this service. Register for library membership.

Q: Which libraries do I have access to with my alumni card?
A: You are entitled to free use of the Northampton Square Library, Cass Learning Resource Centre, City Law School Library (Northampton Square) and The City Law School Library (Gray's Inn Place).
Alumni now have access to the Library at Senate House* for private study and non-commercial research only. Alumni must pay the alumni membership rate and need to show a valid alumni card when applying to the Library for the first time. Read more
*Please note this is only available to alumni who graduated from 2016 onwards. You will be asked to provide your degree certificate on your first visit.
Q: Can I access the electronic resources at the library?
A: You can benefit from the recently introduced 'walk-in' service, which gives you access to specific electronic databases at Northampton Square Library and Cass Learning Resource Centre. This access is currently offered on one computer only. If you have any queries please email email@example.com.
Please be aware if you would like to access the electronic resources at the Cass Business School Library, you need to book the computer in advance by calling +44(0) 207 040 8787.
Q: Do I still have access to the computers in the library?
A: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer access to computers in the library. However, you can access the Wi-Fi connection as a guest, on your own device, by requesting a password from the Library Help Desk.
Q: Can I access Moodle?
A: Once you complete your course, we regret to inform you that your student user account will transition to alumni status. This means that your access to IT Services, including Moodle, printing and files store will cease. If you would like to find out when your account will cease, please contact IT.
A: Yes, you have access to Business Source Premier (Alumni Edition), Emerald, JSTOR and Refworks. To access these resources, please log in. If you do not have log in details, then please register first. After you log in, please go to Library Services page, where you will find the designated links for each electronic resource.
If you are a Cass alumnus, please follow the instructions on the Cass Alumni website.
A: To verify the contents of your transcript, or obtain duplicate copies, you need to contact the issuing School. Please note, there may be a charge for each duplicate and preparation of duplicates may take up to 10 working days.
Q: How can I get a copy of my certificate?
A: You may only have one copy of your certificate. To order your replacement, please complete the online form. Student Registry aims to post replacement certificates within five working days of receipt of your request.
Q: Can I get a copy of my certificate certified?
A: Yes. Send the copies of your certificate (we don't need to see the original) and we will stamp them to confirm that they are true copies of an original document and sign them on behalf of the Academic Registrar.
There is no charge for this service. Please send your copies, with a covering letter, to The Registry, City, University of London, Northampton Square, London EC1V 0HB. Alternatively, you may scan and email your original certificate to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
