How are rooms allocated?

For postgraduate students, rooms are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the date of your housing application. Therefore, you are advised to apply as early as possible as demand is high.

An application for housing can be submitted as soon as you have received an offer of a place on a course at City, University of London - regardless of if it is a conditional or an unconditional offer. However, if you are holding a conditional offer please ensure you read the cancellation policy for the hall you have been nominated for, in the event that you do not meet the entry requirements of the course.

Rooms are allocated from June onwards in several rounds throughout the summer. This process may last until early September, or even later, and rooms will be offered according to the date of your application.

Should you not be successful in your housing application, your application will be held on a waiting list for rooms becoming available as a result of cancellations by other students.
