About City

CityDSI

The City, University of London, Data Science Institute (CityDSI) brings together data science expertise within the University and acts as a focal point for coordinating and promoting multidisciplinary research on the theory and application of data science in the fields of healthcare, finance, energy, transport and the creative industries.

The Institute hosts a broad community of data-driven research academics in a growing variety of disciplines including machine learning and artificial intelligence, data visualization, global business, neuroscience, economics, medical imaging, games and the creative arts.

Collaboration

A central remit of the Institute is to promote collaboration between its University affiliates and the wider community, with a keen emphasis on the translation of data science research into applied innovation. CityDSI boasts a fast growing portfolio of high profile commercial/industrial/public partners such as the BBC, The British Library, Moorfields Eye Hospital, Societe Generale and Delta Capita (see the full list of our partners). The Institute seeks to foster collaborative engagements that can make transformative change that will benefit society. This includes working closely with The City Law School and external policy makers in order to understand the wider implications of these changes for the development of effective legal and ethical frameworks.

Location

Located in the heart of London at the City, University of London, Northampton Campus, the Institute is within easy reach of the Tech City in Old Street, the financial district in the City of London, the Shoreditch Design Triangle, a number of London based Innovate UK Catapult Centres, the Knowledge Quarter, and various teaching hospitals within the central London area.
