PhD Research Student


Waleed joined the Centre for HCID as a PhD student in May 2015. He completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences at King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and a Master's degree in Computing Science and Software Technology with Distinction from Swansea University, UK.

Waleed worked for the General Organisation of Social Insurance (GOSI) in Riyadh as a programmer. After that, he joined Al-Imam University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; as a lecturer in the department of Computer Science. He has taught on several modules, for about 4 years.

He is currently conducting research to investigate semiotics perception of signs on mobile devices and identify the underlying dynamics in the cognitive process, using eye-tracking.

Research interests

Usability of Web Interfaces, Semiotics Analysis, Mobile Computing and Eye-tracking.
