Placement at British Airways as Continuous Improvement Practitioner.

Andreea Christoloveanu

Continuous Improvement Practitioner

The role involved working on a multi-million pound project to introduce Lean Techniques and a Continuous Improvement culture and infrastructure to provide a dramatic and sustainable improvement in performance.

“As part of the programme, I received training and coaching from Porsche Consulting, a world leading consulting firm. In terms of achievements – I was accredited as a Continuous Improvement Practitioner (CIP) after constructing, running and leading a series of two-week Lean workshops. This involved engaging colleagues from across the business to create new processes and implement changes”

“I’m now working as a Campus Ambassador for British Airways which involves promoting awareness of British Airways graduate programmes and business placement opportunities. Building strong relationships between British Airways and universities, specifically with their careers services.”

“Following on from my placement I was offered a place on BA’s ‘Leaders for Business’ Graduate Scheme. This is a general management programme which will give me exposure to the breadth and depth of challenge across the departments such as Engineering, Customer Service and Operations, Commercial as well as Strategy and Business.”

“Firstly research, research, research, even before starting the application process it will be a good idea to gain an understanding of what the company does, its competitors and key events impacting the industry. Secondly devote a lot of time and effort into preparing your CV and cover letter. First Impressions count, seek the advice of your Work Based learning Adviser or a previous placement student and they will be willing to help you.”
