Career advice

All students have access to a careers adviser and careers information at the School's onsite Career & Development Centre based at our Princeton Street campus, and through the University's Centre for Career Skills & Development.

Career & Development Centre

A Careers Adviser from the Centre for Career and Skills Development will be at the Career Centre on Tuesdays in term-time to offer 45 minutes careers guidance on a one to one basis by prior appointment (book one online), which includes help with the following:

  • Producing a CV
  • Completing Application Forms
  • Interview preparation
  • Mock interviews
  • Alternative careers
  • Creative job search
  • Sources of careers information
  • Vacancy Sources
  • Further Study

The Centre is open access throughout the week although the door may be locked. Ask at the Princeton Street reception for the door to be unlocked. The Centre gives students access to a wide range of careers resources, including:

  • Take-away handouts and publications on job seeking, legal and non-legal employers and occupational areas
  • A selection of reference books
  • Electronic resources including Prospect Planner

Centre for Career and Skills Development

All law students can also use the central University Careers provision at the Centre for Career and Skills Development. The Centre offers students:

  • Details of full-time graduate vacancies (including legal related)
