About City

The Gender and Sexualities Research Forum

The Gender and Sexualities Research Forum was established by Laura García-Favaro from CCI and Laura Thompson from the Centre for Law, Justice and Journalism.

The GSRF brings together students, academics and practitioners from a range of disciplines across City, University of London and beyond with an interest in feminism and critical approaches to gender and sexuality studies. A wide range of events -- lectures, seminars, roundtables and study days -- have been conducted under its umbrella, dealing with subjects such as sexual violence on campus, queer methodologies, masculinity  and childcare, intergenerational media, feminism and socialism, BDSM and transactivism.

Speakers at our events have included Beverley Skeggs, Mary Mellor, Nira Yuval-Davis, Hilary Wainwright, Carl Miller, Meg John Barker, Ummni Khan, Mandy Merck and Diane Negra.
