About City

City's Alumni Network and you

Once a part of City, always a part of City

On graduation, all City students are automatically made life-long members of our Alumni Network. We have over 100,000 members worldwide, including former staff, and we grow every year.

We offer a range of free and heavily discounted benefits and services, including an annual magazine, bi-monthly e-bulletin, regularly updated blog and website.

We also invite alumni to join our large, active groups on the social networking sites Facebook and Twitter. As a current student, you are welcome to become a fan and / or follow our Tweets!

Your career starts now

You will be able to access our LinkedIn group for professional networking after graduation. For insight into a particular profession or industry in the meantime, our Ask Alumni online mentoring tool enables you to access one-to-one email advice from experienced City alumni working in your fields of interest. To access Ask Alumni visit the Career and Skills Development Service (Level 1, Drysdale Building).

The Careers Service has lots of great resources to help you find the job you want and is available for up to three years after graduation. The online Vacancy Board lists hundreds of part-time, placement and graduate opportunities on campus, around London and beyond. They also have a host of fantastic career events lined up for this term.

The specialist careers team are on hand throughout the year to offer free advice and guidance on any career related issue, from career planning, CV/application checking to mock interviews. Visit the website to access all the resources or pop into the Career and Skills Development Service for a chat.

Events and International Groups

The Alumni Network invites graduates to various events throughout the year which give them the opportunity to socialise, network and hear from a range of expert, and often high-profile, speakers. We also help former students organise reunions back at City.

If you are an international student or the career you envisage involves travel/living outside the UK, you will be pleased to learn that a large number of our events are held internationally.

We also have over 55 international alumni groups. These groups are coordinated by alumni who organise local activities and events. These alumni are also on hand to offer advice and support to current students - you can contact them via our website.

The future

We hope that you will stay involved in City life long after graduation by becoming an active member of our Alumni Network. As you can see, we offer lots of different opportunities for you to share what you learn and experience over the next few years with other students who will be where you are right now. Don't forget, volunteering also helps to develop your management skills and offers valuable CV experience!

Alumni also continue to support City by making donations to the City Future Fund, which offers financial support to students in need. You can find out more about this and the rest of our development work on our website.
