Noel Quadri is a BSc Computer Science student.
What is your name and what course do you study, what year are you in?
My name is Noel (as in Christmas) Quadri and I am in my third and final year studying Computer Science.
What were you doing before you came to study at City?
I was completing my A-levels while doing some charity and tutoring work on the side.
Why did you decide to apply to study at City?
I wanted to be somewhere that was in the heart of my city, London.
This opportunity allowed me to discover more about the city, and especially studying computer science - it allowed me to be very close to the tech roundabout known as Old Street.
What has been your favourite module on the course, and what have you enjoyed most about your time at City?
My favourite module on the course was the team project. The reason for this was the fact it allowed us a taste and an interaction of the future we have in the industry.
I love the atmosphere, job prospects, and the community that is there within City. I feel a part of my university and not dissociated.
What is your favourite thing about studying at City?
I love the connectedness of everything; it is rare for a university within City to be greatly located to everything while having all its facilities within one campus.
What kind of things are you involved in outside of your course?
I am involved in charity work, I tutor children up until GCSE and I also take on other skill-based courses to further my horizon! I also play for one of the Esports teams at City.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I plan to do a graduate scheme to gain an understanding of what I want to do a master’s in. After that, I will complete a master's.
What would be your top tip for our applicants?
To be yourself. The genuinity of an applicant is the best way to find a community that will fit you and not the other way around.
