Lantian is a 2nd year MEng Aeronautical Engineering student. She encourages applicants to do their research regarding universities and course options.
What were you doing before you came to study at City?
I was studying for my A-Levels.
Why did you decide to apply to study at City, University of London?
I applied through Clearing. City was one of the few universities which offered Engineering courses to students, without a Physics A-Level.
What is your favourite thing about studying at City?
Labs! I am in a love and hate relationship with them, but I confess, I feel very satisfied after finishing a lab report. London is an interesting campus to study: the vibe is quite unique, and it is a memorable experience to live here.
What kind of things are you involved in outside of your course?
I play for City’s Hockey team. I am also a member of the Kpop and Kdrama Society, and a presenter for the University’s radio station, Carrot Radio. I also work as a Marketing Student Ambassador. I get to meet so many people by being part of societies and working part-time.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I would like to find a job but have not decided on a career path yet.
What would be your top tip for our applicants?
Do your research. Consider what would make you satisfied and happy. Once you have made your decision work hard to get where you want to be.
