Katy is a 3rd year BSc Criminology student. Her favourite thing about City is the location in the heart of London as it enriches her course.
What were you doing before you came to study at City?
I was at college doing my A levels. I studied English combined, Law and Business studies.
Why did you decide to apply to study at City?
I applied to City because I knew I wanted to live in London whilst doing my degree. I attended a few Open Days for London universities and City stood out the most for me. The Open Day was very well run and the talk for my chosen course was very engaging. I was also impressed with City’s facilities.
What is your favourite thing about studying at City?
I decided to study at City due to its great facilities and location. Now I’m here, my favourite thing is the location as it enriches my criminology course. I also like the amount of elective modules on my course. The criminology modules are my favourite, but it’s great that we can choose modules from across the whole of the School of Arts & Social Sciences.
What kind of things are you involved in outside of your course?
Outside of my course, I am an avid musician. I regularly perform singing and playing guitar, alongside writing my own music. I am also a Student Ambassador for City which is a good way to represent the University as well as make some extra money alongside my studies.
What would be your top tip for our applicants?
My top tip for future applicants would be to take your time in deciding which university is right for you. Also, it is helpful to go to Applicant Days and speak to current City students; hearing about their personal experiences is helpful when decision making.
