Emmanuelle is a 2nd year Computer Science student. Her favourite thing about City is the community of students and the societies.
What were you doing before you came to study at City?
I was in secondary school following a traditional school path gaining experience in different environments and countries.
Why did you decide to apply to study at City, University of London?
The course structure and the flexibility of the course appealed to me. I wanted to study Computer Science but was also interested in different routes the University offers such as Business Computing Systems and Computer Science with Games Technology. Another factor is the location: the University is situated in the heart of London, which is really convenient.
What is your favourite thing about studying at City?
My favourite thing about City is the community of students and the societies. There are so many societies to join and everyone is very welcoming. I also love their original schemes offered to students such as the Professional Mentoring scheme. There are numerous opportunities for academic and non-academic growth.
What kind of things are you involved in outside of your course?
I am really involved in societies. I am a member of three different societies: Anime & Manga Society, Kpop and Kdrama Society. I am also Finance officer of the City's Catholic Society.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
I plan on pursuing a career in IT, working as a software developer or engineer.
What would be your top tip for our applicants?
Do not limit your university search. Search for a university that you could see yourself studying at and be happy about the choice. Believe in yourself and apply.
