About
Overview
Giulio’s research revolves around the impact of the digitisation of the economy on the Competition and Data Protection Law frameworks. In particular, Giulio looks into the interrelation between these two fields of law in the present digital age and endeavours to address the different issues that arise from incorporating privacy as a qualitative parameter into the competition and merger assessment by domestic and supranational competition authorities.
The research approach is multijurisdictional ‒ by looking at different Competition and Data Protection Law regimes in different jurisdiction such as the US and the EU ‒ and multidisciplinary ‒ by looking at the different topics from a legal, economic and policy perspective.
Besides his research, Giulio teaches on the IP Law course at City Law School.
Giulio's research is funded by the Jean Monnet Scholarship and supervised by Professor Elaine Fahey and Doctor Ryan Stones.
Giulio is a Law graduate (Master’s Degree) from the University of Trieste and holds an LLM in Competition Law from King’s College London. Before joining City University, Giulio also practised Data Protection Law, Competition Law and Media Law at two different international law firms in Milan and completed an internship in the field of merger control at the European Commission's DG Competition in Brussels.
