Dr Carol David Daniel is Senior Managing Consultant IP & Commercialisation at City, University of London.
Dr Carol David Daniel is Senior Managing Consultant IP & Commercialisation at City, University of London. His role is to assist researchers with commercialising their Intellectual Property including novel processes, methods, innovative solutions to problems, software and patents covering research and development outcomes from all of City's Schools. He also provides advice and assistance with IP matters in regard to grant applications and research contracts. The focus of his commercialisation activities have been on spin out companies including: Heleix Power, Thomson Screening, City-occupational, Camineo and licensing. He is an active non-executive director of Heliex and Thomson Screening and an expert evaluator of exploitation projects for the European Commission.
His background is in Engineering, he gained his PhD in Physics from Queen Elizabeth College, University of London and has spent most of his career in the private sector beginning with GEC, Marconi, BTG and the Centre for Exploitation of Science and Technology. Before he joined City he spent the previous 30 years in various roles that included the sales and marketing of innovative products/technologies and services and in business consultancy. Carol is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
