Sandra studied for a degree in International Political Economy at City, University of London, and graduated in 2017.
"I have always been interested in understanding world affairs, and knew I had to pursue a degree where I could understand how both economic- and political issues are interconnected. I struggled to find a programme that would provide me with this knowledge, as most distinguished between the fields. This was until I found the IPE degree at City, University of London.
Besides having the pleasure of choosing between several interesting courses, the faculty has also been of great inspiration to me. The academic staff is not only passionate about their field in lectures, but they are also active outside by participating in debates of current issues. This, at least for me, has been very motivating and beneficial for my studies at City, and for my ideas about future career prospects.
As for my next chapter, this degree has opened a plurality of possibilities. It was through taking certain modules that I developed and interest in wanting to not only analyse risks, such as financial and political risks, but also understand how to manage them. With the analytical and critical skills drawn from this degree, I have been accepted to an MSc in Security Risk Management at the University of Copenhagen. I am certain that this degree will further aid me in my studies and my understanding of the future dynamics of the world economy."
