BSc Economics with Accounting graduate Qudaija is working for KPMG as an Audit Associate.
Can you tell us a bit about your current role?
I am currently working for KPMG as an Audit Associate, alongside studying for the ACA qualification. I work in highly experienced teams to provide assurance on financial statements produced by clients within the technology sector.
Why did you choose to study Economics with Accounting at City, University of London?
I chose to study at City due to its prestigious reputation and strong links with firms within the financial sector. Studying in the heart of London was also highly attractive as it provided a great academic and social scene to get involved with.
What was your favourite module during your degree?
During my degree, I thoroughly enjoyed studying Econometrics, though challenging at first, I was able to grasp the concept through the help of amazing lecturers. It also allowed me to learn how to use the software STATA which is valuable in the world of work.
Were there any lecturers who really inspired you?
My Econometrics lecturer Giovanni really inspired me because he was always eager to ensure I understood the content. He was highly motivating and did all he could to provide the support I needed to complete this module with high marks.
How did City help you get to where you are today?
City provided endless opportunities for both work and volunteering. I worked as a Student Ambassador during my three years at City and I was able to successfully apply the skills acquired to my current role.
Any advice for someone considering Economics at City?
Economics at City is great, you are able to learn concepts applicable to the real world which really helps when going into a career or even further study. I would definitely recommend Economics as the lecturers are really helpful and the content of the degree is both interesting and thought provoking.
