Marlan is an Alumni Ambassador at City for South Africa
PG Dip International Journalism, 1989
School of Communication and Creativity
I have been a professional journalist and photojournalist for over 30 years, as well as a travel writer and media strategist. Since 2000 I have been a board member of the RK Khan Hospital.
I became a life member of the Global Organisation of People of India Origin, New York in June 2015, and I received a Lifetime Achiever Award for commitment to the Indian Diaspora in South Africa and Abroad. I continue to write opinion-editorial commentary in leading newspapers and comment regularly on social media, mainly Facebook.
As an Alumni Ambassador, I want to use my skills, experience, expertise and networking capacity to give back to City, University of London. I want to also contribute to enhancing the Institution’s reputation, legacy and credibility in academic excellence in addition to connecting alumni internationally.
