Aljosha graduated with a PhD from City, University of London's Department of Journalism in 2016.
Having graduated at London’s Barbican Centre with a PhD from the Department of Journalism in July 2016, I ended up not just moving to another city or country, but to another continent!
I now work as a Research Associate at the Digital Media Research Centre (DMRC) of Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia, under the supervision of Professor Brian McNair and Professor Axel Bruns. We’re working on a transnational comparative study on how journalism is evolving ‘beyond the crisis’ – and doing so in a city in which the sun shines for 300 days a year definitely is an added bonus!
I’d like to thank my two supervisors Dr Zahera Harb and Professor Neil Thurman for their guidance during my PhD journey and for having prepared me for a further career in academia.
