Research
Dr Gash's previous and current research interests are in comparative labour market research; with a particular emphasis on the employment conditions and market outcomes of atypical workers, female market integration and welfare regimes. She uses a wide variety of data in her research, both cross-nationally comparative data such as the European Social Survey, as well as longitudinal data such as the Understanding Society data. She has been working in this area for some time now, having worked on the topic for two years during her time at the Economic and Social Research Institute, Dublin (1998-2000) at Oxford University where she obtained a DPhil in Sociology (2000-2004) and during her time as a Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin (2004-2006).
