Ursula is a Research Assistant at the Centre for Food Policy, City University, London since March 2021.
Ursula has more than 15 years of experience in policies, programmes and research on infant and young child feeding, adolescent nutrition, nutrition sensitive agriculture and urban food environments.
At the Centre for Food Policy, Ursula works on the Food Systems Policy Choices Initiative. For this project, Ursula is working on a review of evidence and practical policy briefs on how existing food system policies influence diets in different contexts, identifying synergies and unintended consequences.
After finishing the Master’s programme in nutrition at the University of Vienna in 2003, Ursula worked with WHO in Europe, Central Asia and Eastern and Southern Africa, and did consultancies for Mercy Corps and FAO in Tajikistan, Concern, FHI360 and the EU Delegation in Ethiopia. In 2018, she started her PhD at Wageningen University on adolescent nutrition and urban food environments in Ethiopia while consulting with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the French National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE).
