About

Overview

Tracey joined City, University of London as a Lecturer in August 2005. Tracey is currently undertaking a 3-year Barts Charity Nurse / Allied Health Professional Clinical Research Fellowship (supervised by Prof Leanne Aitken, Dr Catherine Hurt, and Prof Julie Sanders). Tracey’s doctoral research focuses on improving cognitive health after cardiac surgery. Tracey trained in Ayrshire and Arran College of Nursing and Midwifery before starting work as a staff nurse in the coronary care unit of the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. She moved to London in 1998 to undertake a cardiac rotation programme. She then worked in a variety of roles within Barts and the London NHS Trust including cardiac research coordinator and senior sister of Harvey ward (coronary care / interventional cardiology). Tracey has continued to maintain her interest in cardiology through her role as link lecturer for the cardiac wing at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and her role on the Editorial Board for the British Journal of Cardiac Nursing. Tracey’s main teaching interests are cardiac care, medicines management, resuscitation, and clinical skills.
