Overview
Joined The City Law School (formerly the Inns of Court School of Law) in 1997.
Sarwan graduated from Warwick University, and studied for an LL.M at University College London. He has a first class MBA from Southbank University.
Sarwan has considerable experience in all aspects of litigation. He spent 5 years working in Law Centres, followed by 10 years experience working in local government, where he specialised in Housing, Social Services, Mental Health, Employment and Crime.
He currently teaches Evidence, Ethics, Conference, and Criminal Advocacy. He has also taught Criminal Litigation and Employment. Presently he will be teaching Judicial Review on the BVS Course. He has worked as a management consultant, and equal opportunities trainer and given numerous lectures/training sessions on law.
Sarwan has in the past been Deputy Course Director on the BVC as well as Co-ordinator of the Employment Law option. He has contributed to The City Law School Criminal Litigation Manual, and is a qualified IATC advocacy trainer. He has been an external examiner for many Universities. For the last 5 years he has marked the BSB Ethics paper and contributed to the creation of MCT's for the Evidence and Criminal Law examinations.
He has in the past sat as a part-time Chairman of Employment Tribunals.
He has also in the past been elected as President of the City University UCU.
He is a member of the Southwark Law Centre for over 15 years.
For the last 10 years he has been the Pro Bono Director at City Law School.
He recently became a Governor of his local state school.
