About
Overview
Dr. Francisco Cabrera received his BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a first class certificate. He was awarded the Dean of School Prize of his BEng (Hons) for his performance in 2010. Then he received his MSc in Telecommunications and Networks with distinction from City, University of London in 2011. He was then awarded a PhD studentship to pursue a PhD in Photovoltaic solar cells. He received his PhD in Photonics in 2017 for his PhD thesis " Analysis of the optical properties of texturing patterns for design of Si solar cells" from City, University of London. During his time as a PhD student he was an active student member of the IEEE student branch having hold the Treasurer, Secretary and Chair positions. During his time as a member of the board, the branch was involved in organising an IEEE standards event at City. After completing his PhD, he briefly moved to industry he soon returned to City, University of London as a Marie Curie Post Doc Research Fellow to continue his work on textured crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Solar Cells. He is currently a member of the Institute of Physics, IEEE and OPTICA (formerly OSA).
