About
Overview
Darren initially studied at the University of Ulster at Jordanstown (UUJ) where his BSc (Hons) was completed in diagnostic radiography. He initially worked as a clinical radiographer in Dublin and then joined the NHS in June 2000. His work at a large London NHS teaching hospital provided experience in cross sectional imaging, interventional radiology and cardiac angiography. A role of deputy superintendent in the MRI department provided important NHS management experience.
Darren completed his Masters (MSc) in Medical Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) through City University London. His research project focused on stroke management from an imaging perspective.
Registration of a PhD in magnetic resonance imaging for prostate cancer is under progress.
His research role will coincide with a lecturer position in diagnostic imaging. Darren is a clinical link lecturer to undergraduate radiography students at the Whittington NHS Hospital and Finchley Memorial Community Healthcare NHS hospital. He is also the clinical co-ordinator for the undergraduate diagnostic radiography students.
