Student Surveys

Student Surveys 2012

Why does the University use surveys?

Feedback from students is essential to inform the development of the University's courses and to help shape all aspects of the learning experience. We actively seek and encourage you to give us your views, and online surveys are the main way that we do this.

What happens to the feedback I provide?

Your feedback will be considered at various School and University committees, so that we can identify what we are doing well and what we need to improve. We will also tell you what changes we are making as a result of your comments.

Which survey should I complete?

All surveys will open at the beginning of February 2012. Depending on your level of study and course, you will be asked to complete one of the following:

Undergraduate - 1st year Your Voice 1
Undergraduate - 2nd year Your Voice 2
Undergraduate - final year (3rd/4th year) NSS (National Student Survey)
Postgraduate - taught courses PTES (Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey)
Postgraduate - research programme If you are a research student, you will not be asked to complete a University survey this year, although you may complete one for your School or department. The next University survey of research students will take place in 2013.
International students - all courses/levels If you are an international student, you will be asked to complete the ISB (International Student Barometer) later in Spring 2012.

[Note: links to surveys will become live in February 2012 when the surveys are available.]
