City is committed to the improvement of the services we provide. Outcomes of academic appeals, complaints and disciplinary action are reported to the relevant departments as a matter of course. Lessons learned and good practice identified feed in to local or University level monitoring and review.

The Office of the Independent Adjudicator for Higher Education (OIA)
The OIA offers an independent scheme for the review of student complaints and appeals. The OIA Scheme became fully operational in January 2005, and replaced the previous University Visitor system.
City notifies students when it is satisfied that all internal procedures for an appeal, complaint or disciplinary matter have been completed. The OIA normally considers applications only after this point has been reached, and all applications must satisfy the OIA's eligibility criteria. A review by the OIA may take six months or more to complete.
