The following key documents set out the constitution and decision-making structure of City, University of London.
City, University of London is an independent corporation, whose legal status derives from a Royal Charter originally granted in 1966.
The Royal Charter granted in 1966 has since been amended through Supplemental Charters approved in March 2006 (to give effect to a reform of governance at City), in July 2016 (to reflect City acceding to the University of London) and in March 2023 (to reflect City’s successful application for University Title). A composite version of the Royal Charter under which City now operates (the Supplemental Charter and Statutes of 2016 as amended by the Charter of 2023) is available.
