The City Law School has two dedicated law libraries. The City Law School Library (Northampton Square), located in the College Building, supports undergraduate and postgraduate academic study. It offers printed resources, study spaces and computer facilities over two floors.
The City Law School Library (Gray's Inn Place) primarily supports students on professional programmes.
The library offers individual quiet study spaces for Law School students and staff only.
A team of professional staff are available to assist you with sourcing legal materials, researching the law and answering your queries.
The Help Desk is located opposite the entrance; you may borrow and return library items here as well as at our self-service counter.
Staff will also be happy to assist you to collect a requested or Inter-Library Loan item or support you in managing your account.
There are no computers in the library. Students can use any of the computer rooms around campus. The nearest computer room to the Library is next door in AG13. Students can also use any of the computers in the Northampton Square Library.
Photocopying and printing
A Multi-Function Devices for photocopying, printing and scanning is available in the library.
All students have a unified account for printing and photocopying. This can be topped up online.

Where appropriate users should familiarise themselves with their Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan and be aware which is their closest refuge point when using the library. There are clearly labelled refuge points outside the library. Users requiring mobility assistance will be directed to a refuge point by a member of staff and should wait at one of these points. Library staff will alert the emergency services who will ensure safe exit from the building.
The library can be accessed from street level through the College Building entrance on St John Street. The library is located on the ground floor of College Building. A lift is available in College Building to provide access to other floors and other buildings (via the first floor).
The St John street entrance is closed at weekends. Access to College building is via the University building walkway.
