Overview

This one-day course, taken from our Legal Translation MA, is offered here for continuing professional development. It includes a discussion of the issues in translating EU legal documents, and the translation of various document types.

What will I learn?

Discussion of the key issues in the translation of EU documents

Translation of a selection of the following document types:

  • treaty provisions
  • EU legislation (regulations and directives)
  • ECJ judgments
  • resolutions of the European parliament

All translation workshops will address formatting and layout in different jurisdictions, terminology issues and syntactic issues
