Novel Tjahjadi, IT Project Manager - Schlumberger
MSc Business Systems Analysis and Design
2007
I found my City classes interesting and extremely eye-opening, because they were very dynamic. There was an open communication between the lecturers and the students which stimulated and enhanced the contents of the subjects being discussed. I learned from my fellow classmates as much as I learned from the lecturers. In addition, my class was quite diverse. I reckoned nearly half of the class was made up of international students. They came from Greece, Sri Lanka, China, India and Oman, amongst other countries. I expected that the BSAD course would prepare me to be an IT professional. What I liked about the course was that the curriculum contained theory and practical aspects of information systems in an appropriate proportion. It was the right course for me personally as I had no IT background prior to participating in the program and I did not expect myself to become a programmer or a database administrator, but rather as a mediator between the business groups and the IT people in an organisation. The BSAD program has enabled me to speak both languages more confidently.
