Why study at City?

Services for Students

*City is the only university in the UK to have its Student Centre recognised by The Institute of Customer Service. In 2010, we were awarded ICS ‘ServiceMark’ accreditation in recognition of excellent service delivery to students. In 2011 we were winners in the Times Higher Education Leadership & Management Awards in the category of Outstanding Student Services Team.

The Learning Development Centre supports students by providing: access to the e-portfolio, Pebble Pad; supervision for dissertation projects; and help with technological equipment.

Careers

City has a comprehensive range of careers services available to students, including an online Vacancy Board, and advice on career planning, job hunting, writing a cv and psychometric tests.

Volunteering

We facilitate a range of volunteering opportunities for students, as we believe that this is an excellent way for students both to participate in community projects and improve their career prospects.

Mentoring

We organise a professional mentoring scheme whereby established professionals help students to develop their skills in searching and applying for jobs, and preparing for interviews.
