Undergraduate study

Sport at City

nullWe encourage students to be active and healthy, and to get involved with sport while studying at City University London. As a City student, you can join classes, team sports and wellbeing programmes. Our Sports and Leisure Service offers advice and encouragement to help you achieve your health, fitness and sporting goals.

IntraCity

City's bid to introduce a pan-University intramural sports programme, Intra-City, received over £116,000 in funding from Sport England, enabling more University students to participate in sport. IntraCity is designed to promote "participation through sport" to help develop friendships between fellow students within your own and other halls of residence and departments. This year the programme includes football, basketball and badminton. Anyone can join in, no matter what your level or experience.

Sports Centre redevelopment

The Saddlers Sports Centre will be closed from Thursday 30 June 2011. This is to allow for a planned redevelopment of the centre which will result in a much-improved facility.

The planned redevelopment will result in a sports centre with an Olympic quality six-court sports hall, a 100 station fitness area, improved and spacious changing facilities, four multi-purpose studios, separate team changing areas and a cafe. There will also be full disabled access and the venue will provide a valuable resource for University students, staff and members of the public.

Fitness providers

In light of the planned redevelopment of the University Sports Centre, Sports and Leisure Services have secured preferential rates with local Islington and national providers of fitness facilities.
