Find your accommodation
Whether you are looking for accommodation for the next academic year, need a new flatmate, finding a local hotel for a relative to stay in while they visit you or you just need somewhere to stay for a night, this page is for you.
City Students currently have access to StudentPad until 31st August 2016. This database is currently the first port of call for private accommodation searches. StudentPad helps students to find the right property suited to their needs as quickly and easily as possible.
Use StudentPad to:
- Search the database for available accommodation.
- Find flat mates and rooms through the message board
- View housing statistics to find out the average prices in areas local to the University to from the properties advertised on the site
StudentPad’s message board is open to all City University students as a place to talk about accommodation and swap advice. It’s also a very useful area to advertise room vacancies if you are looking to move before the end of your contract, or to find flatmates.
2 simple steps to using the message board:
- Email the Accommodation Team at email@example.com for the message board password.
- Access the message board
ULHS Housing Database
From 1st May 2016, City Students will have access to the ULHS Housing Database. We will be discontinuing StudentPad and using this database as our main source of private housing. Every year, around the the first week of May, the ULHS team update the database with new landlords and properties, to coincide with their Housing Fair on the same day.
For landlords and housing providers
If you are a private landlord or a housing provider who would like to advertise properties on the ULHS Housing Database please contact the ULHS team directly on +44 (0)20 7862 8880 or firstname.lastname@example.org. All our current landlords on StudentPad have been informed to advertise on the ULHS database so that we can discontinue use of StudentPad in August 2016. We will not be adding any more advertisements on StudentPad, but the current users can update properties already listed. Please contact the Accommodation Team if you wish to discuss your current advertisement on StudentPad.
This is a new scheme run by ULHS and City University is currently in the process of securing our first two properties. These properties will be vetted by ULHS staff and available to groups of continuing City University students. One 4 bedroom property has already been sourced and will be available shortly. More information is available on the ULHS Student Homes website. We hope that this scheme will prove successful and City will acquire more properties in future years.
ULHS has short term housing available, please view the ULHS Short Term Housing webpage for more information.
There are many Hotels and Hostels located all around City University. We just list a few of them, however you can use search engines to find cheaper rates.
In an emergency or if you find yourself homeless, Shelter has some good advice about what to do.
There are many independent websites which can help you find flatmates and shared houses. ULHS has a few listed here but as we have linked our Private Housing information, we will not be advertising these on our website.
