Instalment scheme

The University has a two-part instalment scheme for the payment of tuition fees available for some students.

If you have sufficient funds available to pay your year's fees in full at or before registration, we would strongly advise you do so to avoid possible financial problems later in the year.

The instalment scheme is open to all self-financing students except for students on courses for which fees are payable on a modular basis, who must pay the fee for each module in full before commencing it. If you are unsure whether your fees are payable on a modular basis, please contact your School office.

When are the instalments due to be paid?

All self paying, new and continuing students can pay their annual tuition fee in two equal instalments:

Students who are following the normal academic year (registration in August, September or October), in order to complete registration and re-registration, must pay the first instalment of their annual tuition fee, and also provide us with financial details for us to collect the second instalment on the last working day of the following January. You can do this when you register online.

If you are following a different pattern of study, the first instalment must be paid when registering and the second on the last working day of the third completed month after registering.

You can pay the first instalment of your fees by cheque, by credit/debit card or by bank transfer, but you must also provide us with your debit/credit card details to collect the second instalment on the last working day of the following January. This is perfectly secure and you can set this up when you register or re-register online.

If you provide us with your debit or credit card details, the first instalment will be charged to your debit/credit card on the same day or shortly after we receive your card details, and the second instalment will automatically be charged to your debit/credit card on the last working day of the following January. This is the simplest form of paying your annual tuition fees and you can set this up when you register or re-register online.

The University does not offer a discount for payment in full at registration and nor does it charge an administrative fee for payment by instalment. However, we reserve the right to levy interest and administrative charges for late payment of any of the instalments.
