The Student Funds Service provides advice and information about the various funding options available to prospective and current students. The service can also offer advice on money management, budgeting as well as applications for scholarships and Access to Learning Funds.
The government currently gives the University money called the Access to Learnign Fund (ALF) to assist students who need additional financial support. Priority is given to students with higher than expected costs (such as students with children, final year students or students with a disability) or who face an unexpected financial emergency during the course of their studies.
Applications for the ALF are made at the Student Funds Service and only students who are classified as 'Home' are eligible to apply.
Assistance from the fund is usually non-repayable.
