Why study a Foundation Degree in Creative Industries at City University London?

Whether you would like to be a producer, technician, event organiser or promoter (through the Music events and production pathway), or a journalist, broadcaster or programme maker (through the radio and television pathway), the creative industries are booming. City University London, together with the Roundhouse in Camden, offers a hands-on course designed to provide the practical knowledge and professional skills you need.

 

Flexibility and diversity of study
The Creative Industries programme at City offers two pathways – Music Event Management & Production and Community Radio & TV. Regardless of the chosen pathway, all students start with the two year Foundation Degree, providing a hands-on course designed to provide the practical knowledge and professional skills they need for a career as a cross platform, multi-platform media content creator.
 
On successful completion of the Foundation Degree, you will be eligible to continue your studies for an optional further year, to achieve a BA (hons) Creative Industries. The third year includes electives from the School of Social Sciences, and the Journalism and Music Departments at City University.

 

Location and industry links
City University London is located in the heart of London and on the doorstep of the world's major media organisations and event venues. The Roundhouse is situated in Camden in the heart of the music and cultural quarter of London. Industry experts and employers are involved at every stage of the course, including advising on course content and delivery, teaching modules, guest lectures and providing work placements.

 

State-of-the-art facilities
You will be able to take advantage of City University London's reputation as a leading university for professional qualifications, as well as the Roundhouse's state of the art facilities and for your practical experience. In addition, you will undertake work placements at event and broadcast companies.

 

BJTC accreditation pending
This is the first course outside of traditional journalism courses to be awarded BJTC accreditation pending status. The British Journalism Training Council is the industry association which accredits around 50 courses.
