What happens when you get your A-level resutls?
The A and AS Level results are released to students in the United Kingdom on Thursday 20th August 2009.
If you are one of the many people awaiting A and AS results, for you and your family this may be a day that determines the rest of your life.
After all the assignments and examinations you will now find out whether you have got a place at the university of your choice. If you are one of the lucky ones who have met the conditions of your offer you will automatically be sent confirmation from UCAS and, shortly afterwards, a joining pack giving information about registration, departmental induction and all the activities to look forward to during Freshers' Week.
If you have not quite attained the exact grades there may still be the possibility of a place. Every UCAS form will be reviewed by the admissions tutor who will make a second, individual assessment of your application. Many students who have not met the grades are still successful in being admitted. You can check the progress of your application either by logging onto the UCAS website or by telephoning the university direct.
What happens if you do not get the required results and both your Firm and Insurance choices turn you down? This is when you enter Clearing.
