Accommodation for undergraduates

As an undergraduate student coming to live in the capital city, you will want to feel secure and comfortable in your accommodation. We have invested in new and refurbished halls of residence with modern study bedrooms and living space, where students can cook, relax and feel at home. All are within easy travelling distance of the City University London.

Your academic department will send you an accommodation application form when they offer you a place on the programme. The application form can also be downloaded.

Guaranteed rooms
First-year undergraduate students meeting certain conditions are guaranteed a place in our halls of residence.

  • You must firmly accept an unconditional or conditional offer from City before 15 May.
  • You must return a completed application forms for halls of residence to the Accommodation Service by 15 May.
  • You must be resident outside the traditional boundaries of the Greater London area.
  • You must be aged 18 years or over at the time of taking up residence in the hall.

If you have accepted a conditional offer, your guaranteed place in halls will not be confirmed until the Accommodation Service has received notification that you have met the conditions of your offer of a place on the programme.

If you are holding City University London as an insurance offer and you change this to a firm acceptance before 15 May, you must inform the Accommodation Service so that the alteration can be recorded. Your application will not be guaranteed until this is done.

If you do not meet the criteria above, you are still welcome to apply and may be offered a room, as available.

Nursing students
If you are a Diploma in Nursing student, the guarantee and procedures do not apply. The Accommodation Service allocates rooms in a nursing residence in east London designated for a number of London NHS trust hospitals. The School of Community and Health Sciences will send you an application form when they offer you a place on the programme.
