Undergraduate study

Hardship support

Additional support is available to our current students who are in financial hardship. These funds are available for current City University London students to apply for if they are in financial hardship.

Access to Learning Fund

The Access to Learning Fund is funded by the Government which provides assistance for students who have additional financial need, are in financial hardship or who face an unexpected financial emergency during their studies. The fund is open to UK Home students, undergraduates must have applied for, and be in receipt of a full maintenance loan and/or NHS bursary, postgraduate students must be able to demonstrate that they have made realistic provision to cover their tuition fees and living expenses before they can apply. Priority is given to students from vulnerable groups.

City University London Hardship Fund

As part of City's commitment to provide financial assistance for their students in financial hardship, we also have the City University London Hardship Fund. The fund provides financial support to all our current students who have met unforeseen financial hardship towards the end of their course. For many students, this makes all the difference in allowing them to focus on their studies and graduate successfully.

If you are a current student please visit the Student Intranet for more information and to apply.

Individual Awards

Some students gain individual awards from various external charitable foundations and government bodies. You may wish to search for local charities through your local library or online charity registers for further support.
